The BIBLE teaches us important truths about trials in the life of a believer:

1st) Trials come to believers because true faith MUST be tested

1 PETER 4:12 - “DEAR FRIENDS, DO NOT BE SURPRISED AT THE FIERY ORDEAL THAT HAS COME ON YOU TO TEST YOU, AS THOUGH SOMETHING STRANGE WERE HAPPENING TO YOU.”

2nd) God uses trials to work FOR us not AGAINST us.

ROMANS 8:28 - “ AND WE KNOW THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD WORKS FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM, WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.”

1 PETER 1:6-7 “IN ALL THIS YOU GREATLY REJOICE, THOUGH NOW FOR A LITTLE WHILE YOU MAY HAVE HAD TO SUFFER GRIEF IN ALL KINDS OF TRIALS.  THESE HAVE COME SO THAT THE PROVEN GENUINENESS OF YOUR FAITH--OF GREATER WORTH THAN GOLD, WHICH PERISHES EVEN THOUGH REFINED BY FIRE--MAY RESULT IN PRAISE, GLORY AND HONOR WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS REVEALED.”

3rd) Trials will strengthen Godly fruit within us:

ROMANS 5:3-5 “WE CAN REJOICE, TOO, WHEN WE RUN INTO PROBLEMS AND TRIALS, FOR WE KNOW THAT THEY HELP US DEVELOP ENDURANCE. 4 AND ENDURANCE DEVELOPS STRENGTH OF CHARACTER, AND CHARACTER STRENGTHENS OUR CONFIDENT HOPE OF SALVATION. 5 AND THIS HOPE WILL NOT LEAD TO DISAPPOINTMENT. FOR WE KNOW HOW DEARLY GOD LOVES US, BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN US THE HOLY SPIRIT TO FILL OUR HEARTS WITH HIS LOVE.”

Fiery trials are not for destruction but for refinement. God uses those trials to bring up all the dross and impurities within us so they can be acknowledged and dealt with, through Jesus, our Messiah,and the power of the Holy Spirit!

And when those trials come, let us not pray,"Lord keep me from these trials". Instead Let's pray, "Father help me keep my eyes firmly fixed on you as these trials come".
